I work in pictorial series, each having a theme. To date I have done eight. These cycles were born from reflections and personal research because I don't want an art reduced to decoration or communication. I want an art that resists to impostures and simulacra. An art that engages viewers.
Technique: Drawing and acrylic paint on 50% Fabriano 300/350gr paper/cotton and on canvas.

I have always drawn and painted. As a child, I painted and drew on old sheets, paper and on the walls of the attic of the family home where I lived with my parents, my brother, my grandmother, my aunt, my uncle and my cousins. Everyone lived in a large, beautiful house in Biella, an elegant town in Piedmont, Italy. My family was in the automotive business and ran a dealership. On the other hand, I decided to devote my life to painting, art and culture. As a child, I discovered the works of Master Pozzi, a painter, engraver and ceramist who also lived in Biella and who regularly exhibited his Artwork there. His old-fashioned workshop, like those of the Renaissance, was frequented by famous artists and intellectuals. Pippo Pozzi was an imposing character. He was very demanding, a bit boorish and hated wasting his time. Becoming a student of this great Master seemed to me to be an unattainable dream.
D etermined as one can be at 18, I rang the doorbell of his famous Atelier. A little surprised, he received me without really understanding what I expected from him. We talked about art, culture, poetry and I asked him to become his student. Surprised and intrigued by my request, he was frank and sincere in giving me an appointment to assess my abilities. A few days later, under his severe and sharp gaze, I drew for a few hours. After careful examination of my first drafts, he agreed to my request. This is how I became Master Pippo Pozzi's student and he became my mentor. Training in Art in such a place alongside him is a privilege for which I will never be grateful enough to him.
I paint my characters with essential features thus accentuating the most intimate aspects. The realism of the subjects of my compositions then mixes with the abstraction of colorful symbols carrying emotion. My works are the result of careful study and in-depth reflection. I do not want to reduce art to decoration or communication which would refuse to listen to sensitive realities. I want an art that resists impostures and simulacra, an art that engages by breaking the limits. In the era of entertainment and social fragmentation, in this rather disembodied world where we lack the authenticity of beings and the power to act, I see pictorial practice as a means of recreating meaning in our relationships with our similar, with nature, with the world. I plead for art, without becoming a societal manifesto, to be capable, by representing reality, of unfreezing souls, freeing minds and hearts from the protocols that imprison them, freeing emotions, questioning the world, decentering the gaze. to make men feel the secret harmony of the universe.
